In Memoriam: Mary Ann Stachow, S.B.S.

In Memoriam:

The CBA is saddened by the passing of Mary Ann Stachow, S.B.D. who was called home to God on February 24, 2024 at the age of 80. A CBA member since 1984, Mary Ann achieved an M.R.E. from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America.

As a member of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, Mary Ann committed her life to service of teaching and mentoring young adults at Xavier University of Louisiana where for some thirty years she was Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology, focusing on Scripture, particularly Pauline theology and the gospel of Luke. S and Ancient Near East Studies. 

Mary Ann regularly attended the CBA annual general meetings and in 2015, she acted as host for the Seventy-Eighth International Meeting of The Catholic Biblical Association at Xavier University in New Orleans.
