In Memoriam:

CBA mourns the passing of Katherine M. Hayes who died on October 25, 2023, a few days before her 77th birthday. A member of CBA since 1990, Hayes authored the most recent volume published in the Biblical Studies from the CBA, Amos and Hosea: The Justice and Mercy of God. She was active in the association, serving as CBQ Associate Editor (2010-18) and on CBA Committees: Program (2006-10) and Nominations (2019-22).

Hayes received an M.T.S from St. John's Provincial Seminary in Plymouth, MI in 1981, a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America in 1997, and was a Research Fellow at Yale Divinity School, 1993-96. She taught Scripture at Saint Joseph Seminary & College from 1994-94 until she was hired by the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington where she was Professor of Old Testament for 16 years.

The funeral Mass will be on Friday November 3 at 9:30 am at St James, Setauket.  Burial will follow in the St James Cemetery.

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
