This third international congress of biblical studies proposes the theme "Biblical exegesis and contemporary society: conflicts, fundamentalisms and resistances" with the central  objective of discussing the tools that biblical exegesis has provided and continues to provide to deal with the phenomenon of fundamentalism, in a region that lives in tensions and contrasts and in which the Bible continues to be both an instrument of hope and emancipation and a tool of domination and a single thought. It proposes to reflect on the role of the discipline of Biblical Studies not only as a resource for the confessional biblical interpretation of the believing communities of the continent, but also as a space for the construction of thought that contributes in a relevant and pertinent way to a society that continues to be highly informed by a religious sense of which the Bible is a fundamental part.

This event is an activity of the Red Latina de Biblistas de las América (ReLaBA) and gives continuity to the I Congress held in Argentina (2019) and the II Congress organized from Colombia (2022, virtual modality). The CBA's support has been instrumental to the success of these three congresses.
