Full-time, Tenure-track Assistant or Associate professor in Syriac Christianity

The Department of Theology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track professorship at the assistant or associate rank in Syriac Christianity, with a starting date of August 2021. The successful candidate will offer Syriac language courses, as well as courses on theology and/or liturgy in the Syriac Christian tradition. We seek candidates who possess strong research and teaching skills, and broad knowledge of the Syriac Christian tradition. The successful candidate will also be sympathetic to the mission of the University of Notre Dame, which seeks a distinctive educational and scholarly excellence that is founded on its Catholic identity, and to the contribution of the Theology Department within that larger vision.
