Professional Bio

Peter Vale has always had a passion for linguistics and theology, and he spent six years discerning a call to diocesan priesthood. He received an A.B. (cum laude) from Harvard College in 2006, a B.Phil. (summa cum laude) from St. John Vianney College Seminary in 2013, and an M.Div. (summa cum laude) Notre Dame Seminary in 2020. He currently is enrolled in Boston College's Biblical Studies doctoral program. His dissertation, “Echoes of the Exodus in Jerome’s Vulgate Judith” under the direction of Dr. Angela Kim Harkins will attempt to shed further light on Jerome’s approach to translating Judith by applying reader-response criticism to the Vulgate text.
