Women & Gender Conference Steering Committee

We are seeking volunteers to serve on the steering committee for this year’s online conference on Women and Gender Studies occurring in September 2026. This conference serves as a gathering place for those working on issues related to the Bible and women and gender in the ancient or modern world. We aim to bring together scholars who publish using these methodological approaches to facilitate academic interdisciplinarity and foster mutual support and dialogue. We will also seek to publish a conference volume to increase the visibility of the work done by scholars in this important area of research. 

The tasks of the conference committee (Chaired by Leslie Virnelson and Megan Wines) will be to vet submissions, consider publication formats, and seek volunteers to chair sessions. The committee should represent the variety of approaches to gender studies. Please send emails of interest to Dr. Joshua Scott (events@cba-site.org) with a brief statement of your interest in contributions to the work of the committee by March 1, 2026.
