The Catholic Biblical Association of America is now accepting paper proposals for CBA’s 2024 Mid-Atlantic regional meeting, March 8-10, 2024. Day one (March 8) of this event will be entirely virtual (Zoom) and days two and three (March 9-10) are hybrid (in-person and virtual). This event welcomes researchers (Ph.D.) and advanced doctoral students from the region to submit proposals for presentations (300 words), to be submitted using the Proposal Form by January 8, 2024. Decisions will be announced on February 1, 2024.
Researchers from various fields related to and including Hebrew Bible, Pseudepigrapha, Apocrypha, Qumran Scrolls, New Testament, and Early Jewish and Christian literature, are invited to attend the event and present research. Presentations should be 20 minutes in length, and followed by 25 minutes of discussion.
In-person portions of CBA’s 2024 Mid-Atlantic regional hybrid meeting (March 9-10) will be hosted at Virginia Theological Seminary, located in Alexandria, Virginia. Event registration fees for hybrid and in-person participants are $40 for those holding a PhD and $20 for graduate students. Some dormitory housing at VTS will be available (details will be posted on the event page). Registration scholarships are available upon request.
Parallel virtual sessions begin at 9am on Friday and hybrid sessions (in-person and virtual) Saturday and Sunday. Lunch and coffee breaks on Saturday are included in registration. We welcome a keynote address Saturday evening presented by Anathea Portier-Young (Duke Divinity) and Stephen L. Cook (Virginia Theological Seminary) responding, followed by open discussion among participants.
