Announcement from the CBQ Editorial Board

The Editorial Board of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly welcomes applications from full members of The Catholic Biblical Association of America for the position of General Editor of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly for a four-year term beginning on January 1, 2021. The deadline for applications is May 30, 2020.

General Editor of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly

Job Description

The General Editor of The Catholic Biblical Quarterly is responsible for overseeing the editorial process from the reception of submissions to the publication of the journal.

The General Editor maintains correspondence with the scholars who submit articles for publication and collaborates with the journal’s associate editors, who assess the suitability of submissions for publication, and with the journal’s copy editor, who prepares camera-ready proofs for the printing and distribution of the journal. The General Editor also appoints the Old Testament and New Testament book review editors.

The General Editor is elected by the members of the Editorial Board for a term of four years, renewable once.
The General Editor must be an active member of The Catholic Biblical Association of America and is an ex officio member of the Executive Board of the Association.
