Call for Papers

Conferences & Events ,

Christian Scholars Conference, Nashville, June 8-10, 2022

The Patristics section of the Christian Scholars’ Conference (Nashville, TN June 8-10, 2022) issues an open call for papers pertaining to the field of Patristics. This open session will coincide with the seventh annual Everett Ferguson Lecture in Early Christian Studies, to be given by Laura Nasrallah.

We welcome papers on all topics but particularly encourage papers that address either 1) the subjects of travel and/or hospitality in Early Christianity; or 2) early Christian views on any of the following: creation and the environment; body, health, and wellness; or justice and economy. The latter is in keeping with the overall CSC 2022 theme, “A Livable World: Partnerships in Creation, Justice, Wellness & Economy.” However, other topics are also very welcome.

Faculty members may submit proposals of 300-400 words describing the aim and scope of their papers. PhD students are invited to submit complete papers of approximately 10 pages, double-spaced. All proposals will be considered by a peer-review committee, which will organize two or more sessions, depending on the number and quality of proposals received.

Please send proposals to Jeff Childers ( no later than December 31, 2021. Paper proposals should include the title of the paper and a brief bio of the author, which will appear in the CSC program, if the paper is accepted. We will notify you whether your paper is accepted by January 15, 2022.
