2025-26 Grants from the CBA Awarded

A total of $89,600 was awarded through the Research Grants from the CBA program for the following fourteen CBA member projects that the Committee on Research Support recommended:

  •  $3,500 to Klaus Peter Adam, University of Pretoria, for God of the poor, God of vindication: Lectura Caribefia de los Salmos.
  • $7,500 to Peter Claver Ajer, Bexley Seabury Seminary, for The Gathering Motif in the Fourth Gospel
  • $2,500 to Laura Carlson Hasler, Indiana University, for Scriptural Affordances: Literary Use and Value in the Postexilic Prophets
  • $4,000 to Jeremiah Coogan, JST of Santa Clara University, for The Invention of Gospel Literature
  • $4,000 to Daniel B. Glover, Lee University, for Angels and Afterlife in Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity 
  • $11,000 to Todd Hanneken, St. Mary's University, for Latin Moses: A Print and Interactive Online Edition of Latin Jubilees and the Testament of Moses
  • $10,000 to Angela Kim Harkins, CSTM at Boston College., for Solomonic Messianism in the Late Second Temple Period
  • $5,000 to Michael Kochenash, Washington and Jefferson College, for Stigma and Embrace: Repurposing Popular Stories in the Book of Acts
  • $3,600 to Lauress Wilkins Lawrence, Independent Scholar, for Keeping It Real: Community Voice As a Key Ingredient to Relevant Biblical Scholarship 
  • $10,000 to Olivia Stewart Lester, Loyola University Chicago, for 1–2 Thessalonians Commentary (Hermeneia) 
  • $3,500 to Hryhoriy  Lozinskyy, Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Sts Cyril & Methodius, for Laws concerning Levitical Cities: Lev 25:32-34 and Num 35:1–8 and their Relevance for Similar Texts
  • $10,000 to vănThanh  Nguyễn, SVD, Catholic Theological Union, for A Church of Missionary Disciples: The Acts of the Apostles (Biblical Studies from CBA)
  • $5,000 to Brent Strawn, Duke University, for A Critical, Digital Edition of the Hebrew Psalter, Psalms 1-50
  • $10,000 to Brittany Wilson, Duke University Divinity School, for Enfleshing the Divine: God's Body Language in the New Testament
