The Eighty-Sixth International Meeting of The Catholic Biblical Association will be held as a hybrid meeting, in-person at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and virtually via Zoom, August 3-6, 2024 (Saturday-Tuesday).

    • Onsite/In-Person Participation
      • Early Registration fee (until June 1st, 11:59 PM EDT): $150 
      • Registration fee (June 2nd - July 4th, 11:59 PM EDT): $225 
    • Virtual Participation
      • Early Registration fee (until June 1st, 11:59 PM EDT): $125
      • Registration fee (June 2nd - July 4th, 11:59 PM EDT): $200
      • Those registered for virtual participation will have access to Zoom links for all sessions.
    • In an effort to reduce the financial burden on members who wish to attend, CBA is subsidizing the registration fees. The actual cost to run the meeting is closer to $273 per registrant (without the $21,300 credit from CUA the cost would have been $358).
    • REGISTRATION CLOSES at 11:59 pm EDT
      • JULY 4th for In-Person participation and
      • JULY 24th for Virtual participation.
    • All registrants are required to read and adhere to CBA's Professional Conduct Policy and Virtual Meeting Protocol, including the agreement to have your likeness recorded (applies to both in-person and virtual participation).

REFUND POLICY
Email your registration confirmation to the CBA Office (cba-office@cua.edu) with a refund request ON OR BEFORE JULY 5 for in-person or JULY 25 for virtual participation registration.

• After May 27: 75%
• After June 16: 50%
• After June 27: 25%
• After July 5: 0%
• After July 5: 10% (virtual participation registration only)
• After July 25: 0% (virtual participation registration)

MEAL PLANS and HOUSING

    • Fees: For fees and complete information on meal plans and housing, click here.
    • When registering, the meal plans and housing options are only available to those who have selected “In-Person” registration.
    • Meal Plans: This year there will be two meal plan options: 9 meals (Saturday dinner -Tuesday lunch) and 6 meals (Saturday dinner – Tuesday lunch, no breakfast). When registering, click on the plus sign to the left of Meal Plans, then check the box next to the meal plan of your choice.
    • Housing: There is limited onsite housing offered on a first come, first served basis.
      CUA also provides suggestions for area hotels. N.B. The Metrorail Stations between Glenmont and Tacoma Park (including Silver Spring) will be closed due to construction
      • There are two room occupancy options: 
        • Single Occupancy (1 bed, 1 linen package)
        • Double Occupancy (2 beds per room. Fee includes 1 bed, 1 linen package. (The CBA Office will do its best to accommodate requests for particular roommates, but cannot guarantee it will be possible).
      • Each of the two options are available for the 3 nights of Saturday, August 3 – Monday, August 2 (check out on Tuesday). 
      • A very limited number of rooms are available for stays of 4 and 5 nights. 
      • Neither Friday nor Tuesday nights are available for 1 night or 2 nights stays.
      • When registering, click on the plus sign to the left of your room occupancy choice, then check the box next to the number of nights that you plan to stay.

PROGRAM

Schedule
The meeting schedule is posted on the 2024 AGM Event website. From the Schedule, you may click on the links to view more information on the website for Major PresentationsTask Forces, Continuing Seminars, and Research Reports (The Research Reports page is in progress). Zoom links will be posted to each of these pages. At that point, only those who have registered for the meeting will have access to those pages. Once the program and abstract booklets are completed, links to download the pdf versions also will be posted to the website.

When registering, select only one from either the Task Forces or the Continuing Seminars since these sessions run simultaneously (Sunday – Tuesday, 8:45 – 10:45 am Eastern Daylight-Saving Time). If you are not ready to commit to one at the time of registration, you may come back and sign up at a later date. The Continuing Seminars and Task Force options will remain locked until you commit to either an In-Person or Virtual registration.

    • All who are interested in volunteering for our liturgical services (singers, readers, greeters, etc.) please complete the Volunteer form no later than July 1, 2024
    • The CBA Liturgical Coordinator, Terry Lafferty (theresa.lafferty@mountmarty.edu), will contact volunteers in July.
