CBA Welcomes an Unbound Book Review of Mahri Leonard-Fleckman's

Scribal Representations and Social Landscapes of the Iron Age Shephelah

A part of CBA's series of free virtual events which draw together scholars from diverse fields to discuss a recent publication through reflection on specific questions.

in this Unbound Book Review, we will gather to reflect on Leonard-Fleckman's book with the following questions:

  1.  What kinds of tensions are inherent in historical-critical work?
  2.  What are ethical and responsible ways to engage with issues of ancient identity?
  3. How do objects relate to texts in understanding or reconstructing the past?

After a brief introduction from Leonard-Fleckman, we will hear reflections from Rachelle Gilmour, Jonathan Schmidt-Swartz, and Tawny L. Holm.
