CBA Welcomes an Unbound Book Review of Leslie Baynes'
Between Interpretation and Imagination:
C. S. Lewis and the Bible
A part of CBA's series of free virtual events which draw together scholars from diverse fields to discuss a recent publication through reflection on specific questions.
In this Unbound Book Review, we will gather to reflect on the following questions:
1) How does Lewis’s literary imagination challenge or enrich our approaches to studying the Bible?
2) How might Lewis’s sensitivity to genre, narrative, and myth-making shape his understanding of the biblical canon?
3) How might Baynes' analysis prompt conversations about the boundaries between academic criticism, devotional reading, and public theological discourse?
After a brief introduction from Baynes, we will welcome reflections from Jason Staples and Robert Foster.
