The Catholic Biblical Association of America holds an annual "general meeting" for the purposes of scholarly exchange and to conduct the official business of the association.
In recent years, this meeting has been held on the first weekend of August (or sometimes the last weekend of July). It normally takes place at a Catholic university, college, or seminary. Locations are usually selected on a three-year rotating basis: East, Midwest, West.
Attendance at general meetings of the CBA is limited to active and associate members, and to those persons who receive an invitation at the request of the President. Papers at the general meetings may be presented only by active members, or by other persons at the invitation of the President.
